The last day of September is when we acknowledge language professionals anywhere and everywhere for International Translation Day. Having just passed, I continue to reflect on the synergy between our work as translators and interpreters and our purpose to empower a global society that is more accessible, inclusive, and representative of our diversity. Everyone, including non-English-speaking stakeholders, deserves the right to fully participate in decision-making that directly affects them. That’s what drives what we do, and it’s what I attempted to articulate in a brief social media clip that was shared on International Translation Day last week.
To anyone who engages in more than one language in any way—whether on a professional or social basis—we appreciate what you do and we encourage you to continue digging into your linguistic superpower.
Regards,
CEO SIGHTINGS

Jeffrey sits down with The Mighty Measure’s Kim Allchurch-Flick to discuss the unique relevance of our language-access work as related to the movement of Certified B Corporations and other like-minded ecosystems. Of course, he also touches on his experience leading our team on B Lab’s new standards.
AUGUST 30, 2026 | ONLINE
Having successfully completed the full life cycle of V2, from preparing documentation to navigating the audit, we are keen to take our experience and sow back into the greater ecosystem of Certified B Corporations. We’ve noted some takeaways and nuggets of insight to best equip others for success on their journey.
Know Your Rights to Langauge Access
You have the right to get the services and information you need in a language you understand! The American Translators Association’s (ATA) PR Committee wants to help you exercise that right. The committee’s newly published Language Access Cards were designed to help individuals with limited English proficiency (LEP) request assistance in their language and to prompt language services providers for assistance with language access resources.
The card is designed so that LEP individuals can carry it in their wallets or on their phones. The front of the card indicates to the English-speaking provider or recipient of the card what the LEP is requesting, in what language, and how to find a translator or interpreter easily in ATA’s online Language Services Directory. The back of the card is for the LEP individual to get a basic understanding of their rights in their language and access more resources on the ATA website’s Language Access page.
At present the Language Access Cards are available in 22 languages. The PR Committee plans to continue building out the resources on this page with more helpful content and translations over time. Please share throughout your networks!
ACROSS THE B GLOBAL NETWORK
Pioneering the Community of B Corp Consultants
In 2023, we were privileged to be a part of the first group of consultants trained by B Lab U.S. & Canada. We were awarded an institutional seal of approval and vote of confidence as “Trained B Consultants” to add to our value proposition when engaging with prospective partners. While the training program ran for a few cohorts, it then needed to be reimagined both for the new standards and to align with the larger context of consolidation and uniformity across the ecosystem as a global entity.
Those efforts have taken their initial steps through a repurposed training in partnership with B Lab Europe, which we have successfully completed. Now, in addition to our direct experience with the new standards through our own Certification success, we hold the new and improved title of B Corp Consultants.
Moving forward, you should expect to see the term “B Corp Consultant” used solely in association with individuals trained by B Lab, the nonprofit behind the B Corp movement. This new clarification may seem a bit confusing at first as historically the term has been used across the ecosystem in a general sense for anyone having any kind of touch point in guiding companies on their B Certification journey. At least for now, we suggest that when considering partners for Certification support you clarify whether the consultant has completed the updated training on V2 (2026).
Luckily for you, we are already fully up-to-date, so you can rest assured knowing that you’re in the most capable and experienced hands in the world!
Almazen Building First Brick and Mortar
In April 2025, we were proud to welcome Ceres Market as one of our ecosystem’s newest Certified B Corporations as a result of our partnership through the Level program. Since then, Tatiana Gomez, Ceres Market’s Founder & CEO, has led the company through an official rebranding and now presents:
To keep the good news rolling, Almazen has just signed the lease for its first storefront in Kearny, New Jersey! The store is set to open in November, and will offer everything from bulk goods and refills, plastic-free products, plant-based foods, tools and appliance rentals, and educational and community initiatives. In the meantime, Tatiana is working hard to bring this dream to life while documenting her progress on Instagram.

We Are Now Verified on EU Standards
With the European Union’s Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition (ECGT) directive now in full effect, it’s incumbent upon all companies to not just make green-sounding claims but base them in concrete, verifiable action and impact. That includes verifying companies’ impact through independent third parties.
1% for the Planet recognizes this importance and has actively committed to EU compliance by appointing BSI Group as its exclusive, independent verification body for business-member donations. BSI is an ISO/IEC 17065 accredited certification body that provides objective, third-party monitoring of business members’ compliance with certification standards. Founded in 1901 and based in The Netherlands, BSI is a highly reputable industry leader and one of the largest global certifications bodies.
At Enharmonic Encounters we opted into this third-party auditing to ensure that we’re following the most up-to-date best practices to back up our commitment to people and planet. We’re now proud to share that our 1% donation commitment has been successfully verified by BSI! This achievement gives us the right to display the updated logo and its variants in association with third-party-verified business members:
You’ll begin seeing updated logo asset use on our end to communicate that we’ve made this transition. We’ve done the work, and we’ll continue to support our non-profit impact partners and remain at the helm of what it means to truly do right by people and planet.
