The Importance of Team Interpreting
Team interpreting is essential for ensuring accuracy, quality, and equal access to justice in legal proceedings. The latest position paper from the National Association of Judiciary Interpreters and Translators (NAJIT), penned by colleagues Nattalia Paterson, Ph.D., and Chantal Portillo, Ph.D., explains how working in interpreter teams—rather than relying on individuals—helps prevent fatigue-related errors, supports interpreters during complex or lengthy cases, and upholds professional standards.
The paper offers practical guidelines for administrators and interpreters on when and how to implement team interpreting, as well as strategies for effective collaboration before, during, and after assignments.
This method of working isn’t just for ASL interpreters or for conference interpreting. It should also be considered in court proceedings.

It’s now official! Enharmonic Encounters has completed the full audit life cycle and received its final Certification Decision from To-Cert, dated as of June 15, 2026. We are officially the first company in the United States to certify on B Lab’s new standards (V2)!
This movement started in the United States 20 years ago, and we both celebrate and reflect on how far we’ve come. To bring home such a historical achievement during this celebratory moment in the country where our ecosystem was founded—which now has over 1,800 Certified B Corporations but as a global initiative has grown into the largest third-party-verified, socially responsible business movement in the world—means everything.
We’ve always believed that we possess unique value and a special skillset to benefit people and planet, whether through helping companies on their own B Certification journey or through amplifying the voices of non-English-speaking stakeholders in key conversations. This accomplishment is an affirmation of that belief.

New Certified B Corporation Alert
Texas has a new Certified B Corporation—Hello Avani in Dallas!
Hello Avani is a purpose-driven media production company based in Dallas, Texas, specializing in transforming the messages of sustainability-focused businesses and organizations into inspiring displays of impact storytelling. Founded in 2022 by Jigna Pappas, the company’s Creative Director with over 10 years of industry experience spanning broadcast, editing, and motion design, Hello Avani operates with people and planet always at top of mind.
Given her mindset, there was no question that B Certification would be a natural reflection of the values already embedded in Jigna’s work at Hello Avani. Yet with so many questions and impact areas to address, Jigna was at a loss on where to start and what to prioritize for formal recognition. We partnered with Jigna to establish the operational infrastructure needed to achieve B Certification from the ground up, ensuring Hello Avani’s values were tangibly reflected in every aspect of its operations.

New Compliance Protocol for Certification
1% for the Planet has recently shared an important update for any B2C business member that sells or markets to consumers in the EU regardless of where they are based.
The forthcoming Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition (ECGT) Directive, effective September 27 2026, will strengthen an already rigorous model by requiring an added certification layer through an accredited third-party auditor.
To ensure the highest standards of integrity and transparency in accordance with EU Directive 2024/825, 1% for the Planet has appointed BSI Group as its exclusive, independent verification body. BSI is an ISO/IEC 17065 accredited certification body that provides objective, third-party monitoring of business members’ compliance with certification standards. Founded in 1901 and based in The Netherlands, BSI is a highly reputable industry leader and one of the largest global certifications bodies.
If you are a B2C business member that sells or markets to consumers in the EU, please make sure to opt in for third-party auditing in the member portal as soon as possible. BSI will begin auditing certifications this summer so that affected members are ECGT-compliant by September.
