Public Accountability to Stakeholders

by Jeffrey D. Stewart | Jun 9, 2026

It’s hard to believe we’re already at the halfway point of the year! Time just won’t slow down, yet there is so much that needs to get done.

I’m proud to share a brief update on two important fronts:

1) We’ve advanced in our audit process for (Re)Certification of B Lab’s new standards (V2). We had our audit call a few weeks ago and are pending next steps. We remain confident that we’ll receive a positive outcome soon enough.
2) We’re starting to gain more traction in our language access offerings, particularly our interpreting work. That’s exactly what we’ve been planning and wanted to see over time.

These two items form the crux of our business development and growth strategies this year, and we emphasize that in our latest impact report which is now officially available! We hold ourselves accountable to people and planet, and we’re more motivated than ever to continue working to realize our purpose.

Regards,

We Now Serve Arizona Courts

What Jeffrey noted in his intro about starting to gain more traction in our interpreting work is manifesting in part through public service. We’ve been hard at work conditioning our capabilities in the legal field, particularly as it relates to serving non-English-speaking stakeholders who need to access the judiciary in a multitude of ways. Specific credentials are required for interpreters to serve the judiciary, usually as determined by each state.

We’re elated to share that not only have we succeeded in the initial credentialing process in Arizona but we’ve begun providing services directly to Arizona courts! We ensure Portuguese-speaking litigants have equal access to the courts to protect their rights and resolve their disputes fairly and efficiently.

We have benefited greatly from the support we’ve received from our colleagues in Arizona and the Arizona Court Interpreter Credentialing Program (ACICP). And guess what? Our professional development is nowhere near done! We continue to study and train in pursuit of credentialed status on a higher tier, which will allow us to serve judiciaries outside of Arizona. We’ll undergo testing this fall to confirm that our level of performance meets standards to then offer our court interpreting services on a national level. Our work is cut out for us!

Our Annual Impact Report for 2025

2025 was an incredible year for us at Enharmonic Encounters. Now with a few years under our belt, we spent a good deal of energy and effort last year further refining our identity and demonstrating the impact of our operations. The natural longevity in how we serve our partners doesn’t always allow us to see the final results of our work and transformation all in the same calendar year. Well, those efforts are starting to pay off, and the impact is undeniable!

We’re proud to report on some of this transformation in our latest impact report.

We are more motivated than ever to show up for our communities and leverage our platform as a force for good. We hope you’ll join us on the next chapter of our journey!

New Certified B Corporation Alert

New York has a new Certified B Corporation—Tallawah Consulting in Brooklyn!

Tallawah Consulting is a purpose-driven firm in Brooklyn, New York, innovating at the intersection of impact and inclusion. Leveraging evidence-based practices and social-impact initiatives as the main driver of core strategies, Marissa Davis, the company’s Founder and Principal, helps companies and organizations do better to provide meaningful benefit to the customers and communities they serve.

Testimonial from Marissa Davis at Tallawah Consulting confirming how impactful our services were on her B Certification journey

Already intimately familiar with the ecosystem of Certified B Corporations as a B Network Leader at the helm of B Local NYC, Marissa had wanted to take formal steps toward Certification for quite a while. However, the resources, capacity, and accountability needed to put her company through a comprehensive review to identify areas of improvement to ensure eligibility for Certification was an entirely different question.

We were honored to partner with Marissa and create a clear path for Tallawah Consulting to officially join our ecosystem as a Certified B Corporation!

New Compliance Protocol for Certification

1% for the Planet has recently shared an important update for any B2C business member that sells or markets to consumers in the EU regardless of where they are based.

The forthcoming Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition (ECGT) Directive, effective September 27 2026, will strengthen an already rigorous model by requiring an added certification layer through an accredited third-party auditor.

To ensure the highest standards of integrity and transparency in accordance with EU Directive 2024/825, 1% for the Planet has appointed BSI Group as its exclusive, independent verification body. BSI is an ISO/IEC 17065 accredited certification body that provides objective, third-party monitoring of business members’ compliance with certification standards. Founded in 1901 and based in The Netherlands, BSI is a highly reputable industry leader and one of the largest global certifications bodies.

If you are a B2C business member that sells or markets to consumers in the EU, please make sure to opt in for third-party auditing in the member portal as soon as possible. BSI will begin auditing certifications this summer so that affected members are ECGT-compliant by September.
