About Us
Our story

At Enharmonic Encounters, we combine intentionality with impact, working toward a world where businesses thrive by championing diversity, equity, and sustainability. The first part of our name, Enharmonic, is rooted in music: two notes that look different on paper yet sound the same to our ears. Bringing people together across differences to achieve a common goal is the essence of what we do.
Whether guiding businesses on their B Certification journey or bridging language barriers between Arabic, Portuguese, and English speakers, our work ensures a more inclusive and equitable world for future generations. Since our founding in February 2022, we’ve been committed to helping companies lay the building blocks for a viable future for our planet while tackling questions around race and representation.
We don’t just believe in change—we embody it.
As a small, Black-owned business, we’re driven by the responsibility to use our operations as a force for good. Together with our partners, we aim to create purposeful, lasting impact—one step, one word, and one connection at a time.
Meet the founder
Jeffrey D. Stewart
Born and raised in West Chester, Pennsylvania, Jeffrey David Stewart has always been driven by a desire to bridge cultural and linguistic divides. His journey began in 2015 when a presentation on Arab and Muslim affairs sparked his curiosity and led him to study Arabic alongside his undergraduate degree in Music Performance.
His passion for languages then took him across the globe, from Egypt to Brazil. During his two years in Brazil as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant, Jeffrey developed his initial expertise in translation and interpreting, discovering his calling as a language professional.
His path took a pivotal turn when he joined B Lab Global as a Business Sustainability Analyst, where he became intimately connected to the Certified B Corporation movement, a global community of leaders using business as a force for good. He helped over 100 companies worldwide achieve B Certification, gaining invaluable business acumen and a deep appreciation for sustainability and social impact.
Today, as the founder and executive director of Enharmonic Encounters, a proud Certified B Corporation and 1% for the Planet business member, Jeffrey combines his skills as a translator certified by the American Translators Association (ATA) for Portuguese into English and interpreter working between Arabic and English and Portuguese and English, and a Trained B Consultant guiding companies on their B Certification journey. He also continually expands his knowledge on global sustainability standards as a GRI Certified Sustainability Professional. Reflecting a commitment to equity and a sustainable future for all, Jeffrey’s work tackles critical issues around race, representation, and environmental responsibility.

Who we serve

At Enharmonic Encounters, equity is not an afterthought—it’s at the heart of everything we do.
We believe that ensuring a viable future for our planet and generations to come means confronting the historic and systemic inequalities that continue to shape our world. As a Black-owned Certified B Corporation and 1% for the Planet business member, we recognize our role and privilege within this broader landscape. We’re also acutely aware of the lack of recognition for Black and minority business owners, not only within the Certified B Corporation community but throughout the entrepreneurial sector.
For us, building bridges to purposeful impact means deliberately serving those who take an active stance on leveling the playing field for all, putting people and planet over profit.
We are intentional about partnering with:
- Black- and minority-owned businesses.
- Certified B Corporations.
- Non-profit organizations, social enterprises, and other entities committed to positive social and environmental impact.
