Sistema B Brasil’s Silent Impact in the B Global Network
Overview
In an increasingly interconnected world, the ability to communicate across languages is critical for collaboration and purposeful impact. In Brazil, Sistema B Brasil’s groundbreaking work in sustainability and racial justice was not reaching stakeholders beyond its borders. Having identified this gap as a valuable learning opportunity for the rest of the world, we partnered with Sistema B Brasil and translated a series of articles from Portuguese into English. By making this content available to the wider B Global Network, we provided real-life examples of how innovation and implementation across sustainability and racial justice can look.
The Challenge: A Disconnect Between Regional Movements
Despite the shared goals of B Lab U.S. & Canada and Sistema B Brasil, two Global Partners within the wider ecosystem of Certified B Corporations, there has been little engagement between the regions. Part of the reason why is due to language barriers. Sistema B Brasil has been making significant strides in sustainability and economic justice through a diverse set of initiatives, but their work has remained largely absent from the global conversation.
Without access to these insights, other leaders and decision-makers in the B Global Network were missing opportunities to learn from their approaches and challenges.
The Solution: Strategic Translation to Amplify Impact
We took a proactive approach, translating articles that would resonate most with different stakeholder groups outside of Brazil. This process involved:
✔ Identifying high-impact content from Sistema B Brasil’s thought leaders.
✔ Ensuring translations were not just accurate but culturally nuanced to maintain the integrity of the message.
✔ Collaborating with Sistema B Brasil’s Communications and Marketing Manager and Quilombola journalist, Juliane Sousa, to ensure the articles aligned with both regional and global discussions within the larger ecosystem of Certified B Corporations.
By bringing these insights to B The Change, we ensured that Sistema B Brasil gained increased visibility and recognition in the global movement.
